2024
EDUCATOR
OF THE YEAR
FEBRUARY EDUCATOR
OF THE MONTH

Victoria Lafave
Plattsburgh
This year, we are honored to recognize an exceptional individual as our Plattsburgh Educator of the Year! This award is given to someone who goes beyond expectations in every possible way, and this educator does just that—and more.
Their unwavering dedication to making TLC successful is a major reason why we believe so strongly in our program. Their passion and hard work are felt at every level, from providing exceptional care to each child, learning their unique needs and wants, and ensuring every classroom—and the center as a whole—runs smoothly.
But their impact doesn’t stop there. They step up in every way:
✨ Organizing and improving classrooms and the center
✨ Leading fundraising efforts, decorating, and supporting the PTO board
✨ Becoming a mentor lead, helping new employees find their way, offering feedback, and working to resolve concerns
✨ Always being willing to help wherever they are needed
And honestly, sometimes we think they may just sleep here because even after their shift, they never seem to go home! Their dedication knows no bounds, and they are always here making sure things are running smoothly.
This person has come a long way—from being the weirdo who used to walk past my office making dinosaur noises (yes, we all remember!) to someone I can now count on to take on any task, complete it efficiently, and always give 110%.
What truly makes this educator stand out is their growth. Over the last 2.5 years, they have shown an inspiring level of resilience, determination, and commitment to both their own development and the success of our center. There is nothing quite like watching someone face challenges, learn from them, and keep pushing forward until they succeed.
This educator has an unstoppable drive to be something in life and is already making a real difference in the world—starting right here in our community.
💙 We are beyond proud to honor this individual as our Plattsburgh Educator of the Year! 💙 Congratulations—Victoria Lafave! 🎉👏

Hana Feimann & Madison St. Denis
Malone
This year, our Malone Educator of the Year Award is not going to just one person—but to two incredible individuals who embody the true meaning of teamwork.
We simply couldn’t choose one over the other because together, they showcase what it means to be a strong, unified team. Every day, they show up with positive attitudes, unwavering dedication, and a deep commitment to the children in their care. No matter what challenges they may be facing outside of work, they put on happy faces and ensure their classroom remains a safe, consistent, and nurturing space.
They work seamlessly together—sharing tasks equally, collaborating on lesson plans, and creating an environment where learning and growth thrive. They never raise their voices, instead leading with patience, kindness, and understanding. Their bond is so strong that they could probably finish each other’s sentences!
What makes them truly special is their ability to see the needs of every child. When a child requires a little extra love and attention, they don’t hesitate to go the extra mile—ensuring that the child’s day is turned around. They don’t just do their job; they make a difference in the lives of the children and families they serve.
Even more impressively, they handle challenges independently and effectively, rarely needing to escalate issues to higher management because they take the initiative and find solutions together.
Their teamwork, dedication, and passion make them irreplaceable, and we are beyond grateful to have them as part of our TLC family.
Congratulations to our Malone Educators of the Year-- Miss Hana and Miss Madi! 🎉👏💙

Preschool Assistant Teacher
"Eric Carle"
My name is Destiny and I’m so excited to be your class teacher this year! I will use the skills I learn in Early Childhood Development at BOCES daily to ensure each child thrives and hits their developmental milestones!
I chose to work in childcare because I dreamed when I was little to grow up and become an Educator! I have always had an inspiration to help children succeed and develop as they meet each goal, they set for themselves. I love watching them smile and the energy they have when they learning something new!
My hobbies are hanging with friends, writing, playing softball, listening to music, and enjoying time with family.

Hi, I’m Cassandra, and I’m thrilled to be a part of your child’s learning and growth journey! I can't wait to see all their amazing progress!
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work in childcare, as it allows me to share my love and passion for children. My journey began in high school when I completed a Child Development course, which sparked my deep connection to this field. I consider it a privilege to protect, nurture, and support children as they grow and develop, knowing the positive impact I can have on their lives.
I can’t wait to grow alongside your child and help them hit their milestones along the way!
In my free time, I love drawing and spending time walking in nature, letting the surroundings inspire my creativity and refresh my mind.
